Did you know that one of the best times to treat + heal your skin is while you sleep? Sleep is the way your body heals itself–including your skin! Blood flow increases, collagen is repaired which in turn helps heal damage caused by environmental stressors including UV ray damage.
Sleep can dehydrate skin. An overnight treatment, particularly one with oil, ensures moisture stays locked in and dryness stays out. Even your sheets can damage your delicate skin!
One of my favorite blends to use includes Rose Hip Seed Oil + Geranium Essential Oil. Rose Hip Seed Oil doesn’t come from roses, rather it comes from the seeds of rose hips. These seeds are left behind after a Rose has bloomed and the petals have fallen.
Full of antioxidants, vitamins + essential fatty acids, this carrier oil is known to help reduce wrinkles, dry and/or dark spots, reduce itch, and reduce fine lines. Other uses include reducing age spots, stretch marks, acne scars and inflammation.
Geranium EO is a heavy hitter in the skin care world. The flower is also a well known staple in many a gardener’s flower beds. It has centuries of use for healing and regenerating skin.
Geranium is one of those oils you either love or hate although one can grow to enjoy it’s scent with enough usage. Until I learned of all the skin and emotional benefits of this oil, it was one I used because I knew it was good for me but didn’t enjoy the scent. Now it’s like an old friend and I love it!
