Gardening as Therapy

A recent survey by National Garden Scheme found that 85% of people visiting a garden reported a positive impact on their mental wellbeing.


8 out of 10 felt happier.


A Dutch study found that gardening could actually be a better stress reliever than reading.


Evidence has shown that that the levels of serotonin in the brain is directly affected by sunlight.


Exposure to sunlight also impacts sleep health as it regulates melatonin levels.


A study by King’s College London reported exposure to trees, birdsong and the sky is beneficial to mental health as well.

It seemed most important to NOT use gardening gloves and instead, connect to the Earth with your bare hands.
